Over the last ten years,I've written two books and several articles on the high cost of higher education, including thought pieces for Forbes.com and the Chronicle of Higher Education.
In 2006 I authored Surviving the Tuition Travesty, which was prescient in describing the magnitude of the student debt problem while providing policy prescriptions for its solution.
I've read many articles about why college costs so much. Few shed any light on the issue. I believe my article on “Paying for College: Lower Tuition for Everyone or More Financial Aid for Some?” is one of the more lucid descriptions about how college costs have gotten out of hand.
My collection,Ronstadt's Paying for College: Books & Software to Avoid Huge Student Debtt, Compare and Select the Right College, and Perform Brilliantly is written for students and their parents. It provides the knowledge and tools to minimize the costs while maximizing the benefits of a college education.
