Tennis: Coaching, Writing About, and Playing a Game For and About Life

Writing about tennis legends

I’ve had the good fortune to see and meet some great tennis players who reside in the Tennis Hall of Fame.

One is Rafael Osuna, a US Open singles champion, and one of the quickest players to ever step on a tennis court.

Another is Pancho Segura whose two-handed forehand and backhand presaged things to come in the modern game.

A third legend is Dennis Ralston (below)who miraculously is still hitting tennis balls despite a leg amputation. I first saw Dennis play during the early sixties in Santa Monica.
